Fargo Printer

A worthwhile purchase for many organizations in our current environment is an ID card printer.  When you choose to integrate an ID badge printer system in the security processes of your organization, you expand your capabilities to produce a custom ID card that meets the exact specifications needed for your organizational security and operational success.  Benefits of acquiring ID cards printers include printed cards that can be ready on the spot.  Eliminated is the long wait time for the printed cards to arrive from your printing company.
To keep your ID card printer running successfully, it is important to maintain the printer with proper care.  It does not require deep technical knowledge to keep the printer maintained.  By reviewing the manufacturer guidelines and determining to follow their recommendations, the printer will normally run successfully through the card printing jobs needed.

Fargo ID card printer cleaning requirements are provided in their operators guide.  The guide will specify which cleaning kit is needed and how each of the kit items should be used. By keeping the printer machine clean with the specially designed cleaning kit for that printer model, cards should print sharp and clear for many card prints.  The cleaning kits include products to clean the inside and the outside of the card printer.  Alcohol based cleaning pens and printer cards are used to clean the internal rollers from accumulated dust, dirt and oils which may affect clear card printing.

Some Fargo printer systems have a reminder pop up when it is time for maintenance.  This is based normally on the number of prints that have occurred since the last cleaning. The reminder pop up will be found on the LCD screen of the printer or possibly on the monitor of the computer used.  There are a few card printers that do not have this capability.  If your printer does not have the automatic cleaning reminder, it is important to organize a cleaning schedule for your printer.  The schedule can be checked and updated manually when you have completed a printer cleaning.

To be satisfied with your ID card printer, the cleaning schedule is important to maintain.  The internal printer mechanisms and the print head need to remain dirt free to produce crisp, clear cards time after time.  Keeping the external area of the printer clean assists in keeping excess dirt from entering into the printer mechanisms.

Each printer is manufactured a bit differently and requires different care.  It is important to locate the user manual that came with your current printer so ensure that recommended cleaning instructions are followed.  Even if you have worked with ID card making for years, it is wise to review the manual to make sure that you understand the details of your current system. If you locate the instructions, read them and are confused about the steps you are to take, it is fine to contact the distributor or manufacturer to clarify any concerns.  An ounce of prevention can be a much needed event when cards are needed in high volume and quickly for an event.  By completing the tasks on a routine basis, your system will provide professional results year after year.
