Fargo Printer

If you have any knowledge of the ID card printer market at all, you have discovered one of the quality ID card printer manufacturers is Evolis. Today, we will be looking at the Evolis printer you should review prior to making your purchasing decision.

Since 1999, Evolis has been providing cutting edge solutions for companies all over the globe who need identification solutions. This European manufacturer provides excellent products on the cutting edge of the newest printing technology. Evolis provides printers that work well with standard Windows PC computers and is also one of only a few printer manufacturers that provides drivers for those who use a Mac platform. Consult your ID card integrator for information about driver capabilities.

Following are the printers available from this manufacturer:

Tattoo ReWrite

This printer is a low cost monochrome printer that does not use a printer ribbon. The printer uses thermal sensitive cards that can be used over and over on a temporary basis. Each card can be reused up to 500 times by erasing the previous data and “reprinting” new custom data on the card. The important piece to using this technology is finding a way to reclaim the used cards so that they can be erased and reformatted. Magnetic stripe and contactless encoding can be added as options to this printer when purchasing.

Tattoo 2, Pebble4 and Dualys 3

These three printers encompass the majority of small business printing needs. The single sided printing of the Tattoo and Pebble printers work perfectly for single side printing. The dual sided printer, the Evolis Dualys provides ID card printing on both the front and the back of the card surface. Full color is normally printed on the front of the card, while black text is normally printed on the reverse of the card. Each of these printers offers options of basic and advanced encoders to meet your multicard function needs.

Quantum and Securion

High volume and high security card printing needs are met with the Quantum and the Securion badge printers. Both printers provide full color, dual sided printing options. The Quantum is the high volume printer allowing the capability of handing two print jobs at the same time. Jobs of up to 1,000 cards at a time can be processed with this printer which has high volume print ribbons so that the job is not delayed by ribbon changing requirements. You can choose a wide variety of encoding options when purchasing this printer.

High security options are found in the Securion PVC badge printer. Lamination is available on both a single side of the card and on both sides of the card for additional protection. The printer is geared for those that require high security options on the printer system itself. It has a Kensington anti-theft cable and a supply lock to keep printer supplies safe. Password protection protects your software from use by unauthorized card printer operators.

Competitor manufactures include Fargo, Zebra and Magicard printer systems.
